Backed by dramatic mountains, the golden sand and crystal-clear waters meet to form a beautiful beach. There are few amenities here, so bring what you need for the day and plan to spend hours soaking up the views!
For those wanting a bit more than what a Waikiki beach can offer, there is also a hiking option here, with the trailhead to Kaena Point Trail beginning as a dirt road. Eventually, you will encounter switchbacks that rise and fall along the rugged coastline, boasting stunning views you’ll have to work to appreciate! But the tidepools, coves, and marine life that are visible along the way are well worth the effort. Trek the entire trail at 2.5 miles each way, or hike just a portion to get a taste of the coastal vistas.
