Discover Ko Olina and West Oahu

At 597 square miles, Oahu is the third largest island. In contrast, Oahu houses a little over 70% of Hawaii’s total population. Waikiki sits on the South side of Oahu, while Ko Olina Resort and Makaha is considered West Oahu.

Eat and Shop Like a Local

In Hawaii, food makes us happy, and all our experiences tend to circle around food. Ask any local for “must-do” Ko Olina activities and they will most certainly have “eating” as one of the top three items. Shopping is also a way of discovering the area. West Oahu has an international collection of shops and eateries drawing folks from all over the island to experience and enjoy. While Ko Olina and Makaha both have a diverse batch of shops and restaurants, dare to venture a few miles outside of your immediate area and run into even more adventures.

Visit Kapolei

Just a short three miles outside of Ko Olina Resort is the growing town of Kapolei. This is Oahu’s second city, but not nearly as bustling as Downtown Honolulu. Kapolei where you can find your standard brand stores like Costco, Safeway and Target, with well known restaurants like Outback, Chili’s and Subway. Mixed within the familiar are other must do eateries like Eating House, Gyu-Kaku, and Kua Aina, with specialty shops like Adore Hawaii, Bead-It, and Red Pineapple.
